As the former Speaker of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated and driven leaders this province has ever known. But when I see Patricia Auchnie stepping forward to serve Central Nova, I see something special. I see a leader who is carrying on a proud family tradition—one that runs deep in the veins of Nova Scotia.
Her grandfather, who was a dear friend of mine and a former premier of Nova Scotia, was a man who understood the true meaning of public service. His dedication to the people of this province left a lasting legacy, and it’s clear that legacy has been passed on to Patricia. From her rural roots to her service with the Canadian Armed Forces, Patricia embodies the values of hard work, integrity, and commitment to her community.
What sets Patricia apart is not just her professional accomplishments which are impressive, it’s her authenticity. Patricia’s compassion for people is not something she learned from a textbook; it’s something she lives every day. Patricia has a proven track record of caring for people—whether it’s helping families through the toughest of times or supporting our military members. She listens. She acts. And she gets results.
Patricia’s heart for service was instilled in her from a young age, not only by her grandfather Roger Bacon but by her father as well. She’s not running for office for power or prestige, she’s running because she understands what it means to serve—because it’s in her blood. Central Nova needs a representative who will fight for every single person in this riding, no matter their background or circumstance.
Patricia Auchnie is a leader who truly cares. She’s grounded in rural values, inspired by a legacy of service, and driven by a genuine love for the people of Central Nova. That’s why I’m proud to endorse her, and why I believe she will be exactly what the people of Central Nova need.
