The Honourable Alfie MacLeod Endorses Patricia for Central Nova

As the former Speaker of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated and driven leaders this province has ever known. But when I see Patricia Auchnie stepping forward to serve Central Nova, I see something special. I see a leader who is carrying on a proud family tradition—one that runs deep in the veins of Nova Scotia.

Her grandfather, who was a dear friend of mine and a former premier of Nova Scotia, was a man who understood the true meaning of public service. His dedication to the people of this province left a lasting legacy, and it’s clear that legacy has been passed on to Patricia. From her rural roots to her service with the Canadian Armed Forces, Patricia embodies the values of hard work, integrity, and commitment to her community.

What sets Patricia apart is not just her professional accomplishments which are impressive, it’s her authenticity. Patricia’s compassion for people is not something she learned from a textbook; it’s something she lives every day. Patricia has a proven track record of caring for people—whether it’s helping families through the toughest of times or supporting our military members. She listens. She acts. And she gets results.

Patricia’s heart for service was instilled in her from a young age, not only by her grandfather Roger Bacon but by her father as well. She’s not running for office for power or prestige, she’s running because she understands what it means to serve—because it’s in her blood. Central Nova needs a representative who will fight for every single person in this riding, no matter their background or circumstance.

Patricia Auchnie is a leader who truly cares. She’s grounded in rural values, inspired by a legacy of service, and driven by a genuine love for the people of Central Nova. That’s why I’m proud to endorse her, and why I believe she will be exactly what the people of Central Nova need.

Vote Patricia Auchnie for a Safer NS, on Land, in the Air and at Sea

Greetings Friends and Neighbours of Central Nova,

I need your help! My name is Patricia Auchnie. I am a health professional and a proud Conservative Contestant running to represent you in Ottawa. The contested nomination is just around the corner, and I’m asking for YOUR VOTE to be your CPC candidate in the next Federal election.

Central Nova deserves a common-sense, community-focused Conservative leader with the heart, persistence, and experience to represent us. Team Patricia has spent the past year earning your trust, and now we’re ready to bring the positive change our region needs. Together, we can unseat this failed government. And I need your vote to become YOUR VOICE!

As a healthcare professional, I provide care to the brave men and women of our Army, Navy, and Air Force. I understand the pressures of working in a strained system, and I’ve seen firsthand how broken the national support for our provincial healthcare system is. But it’s not just about treating patients. It’s about reducing barriers, solving problems and delivering real results. I will bring this problem-solving mindset to Ottawa to advocate for practical, real-world solutions.

Public service runs deep in my family. My grandfather, The Honourable Roger Bacon, was a farmer and former Premier of Nova Scotia. He won every election he ever ran in, and his dedication to his community has always been my guiding principle. I drive his old Ford Explorer as I travel through Central Nova, a reminder of the importance of persistence, hard work, and service.

Please watch this video to learn more about the values I will bring to the role of Member of Parliament.

We face serious fiscal, social and global challenges today, and I am prepared to tackle them head-on.

Rebuilding Our Military: We’ve seen devastating cuts to the Canadian Armed Forces, leaving our military underfunded and understaffed. I will fight to reverse the billion-dollar cuts and ensure our troops receive the support they need to do their job.

Funding Healthcare: With one of the oldest populations in Canada and a high disability rate, Nova Scotia’s healthcare system is overwhelmed. I will push for increased federal health transfer payments to ensure our seniors, people with disabilities and all Nova Scotians get the care they need.

Increasing Affordable Housing: The housing crisis in Nova Scotia is critical. I will work to reduce red tape and increase federal support for affordable housing to ensure that OUR families in Central Nova can find safe and affordable places to call home.

Improving Policing and Community Safety: Crime is rising, and our communities are less safe. We need a stronger police presence. I will advocate for federal financial support to transform our policing system and improve community safety, on land, in the air and on the water! It is long overdue.

Protecting the Chignecto Isthmus: I will fight to ensure that the federal government covers the full cost of protecting OUR vital trade corridor, relieving the financial burden from Nova Scotians.

Central Nova, I’ve been to each corner of our riding, I have listened to your concerns, and I’m ready to fight for you like you have never seen before.
On nomination day, I ask for your vote.

Together, we will bring positive, common-sense change, we will strengthen our communities, and I will make sure our voice is heard in Ottawa.

Thank you.
